The course utilizes different simulators to demonstrate the advanced principles of mechanical ventilation and its clinical application. Different case studies and scenarios are discussed to augment lectures reviewing fundamentals of this important life sustaining technology. Program Objectives This course is intended to provide you with up-to-date information to be able to: 1. Understand the advanced principles of respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation 2. Understand and comprehend the advanced modes of mechanical ventilation 3. Discuss different mechanical ventilation maneuvers related to disease management 4. Advanced interpretation of ventilator loops and their clinical implications 5. Acquire knowledge on ventilator asynchrony on mechanical ventilation Intended Audience This program is intended for clinicians who have responsibility for the mechanical ventilatory management of critically ill patients and seek basic and advanced knowledge in Mechanical Ventilation.
